Needle felting Workshop
Join textile and fibre artist Gail McCall for a series of four relaxing mornings learning felt making techniques. You can do one or all, it’s up to you. The workshop is now full.
The fourth is needle felting as drawing or using it to mend or decorate an existing garment.
Location: Textile Art Community Art Space, 26 Orthla Road, Heidelberg West, VIC 3081. It will be start and end on time as an Interest Group follows.
Price: $30 per session for the public, $20 for TACAS members. Bring your own garment to mend or decorate. Includes materials, equipment and light morning tea.
Nuno felting Workshop
Join textile and fibre artist Gail McCall for a series of four relaxing mornings learning felt making techniques. You can do one or all, it’s up to you. The workshops are limited to 6 participants. This workshop is now full.
The third is nuno felting, wet felting merino fleece onto a scarf.

Making a heart using basic embroidery
Join the multi talented Louise Muller for a relaxing afternoon learning some basic embroidery stitches. No prior experience is needed. There are 10 places available.
Come and learn some basic stitching, including chain stitch, seed stitch, running stitch, and back stitch. You will be working on a small piece of fabric to learn and practice stitches, then embellish a felt heart to keep as a pin cushion, magnet, bookmark, or memory prompt in your pocket to reflect on someone dearly departed. Or give it away to someone you care about.

Louise runs a Stitching Interest Group on Monday evenings monthly where you can continue your development. It will resume in June 2024.
Crafting flowers using resist

Lino Printmaking Workshop
Join Ruth Shepherd for 3 afternoons of lino printmaking. Dates are 10/2, 17/2, 24/2. The workshops are limited to 6 participants.
In this 3-day workshop, you will learn
Fundamentals of printmaking
Creating an image on your Lino mat
Use of carving tools
Inking and printing your image.

Gail McCall Retro 80
Gail McCall is the founder of TACAS. She’s been working in textiles and other mediums for 50 years. In February she turns 80 and is having a retrospective exhibition of her work.

Make Do and Mend - March 17, 2021
Make Do and Mend
It’s never too late to mend! Extend the life of your clothing and use items you already have to give them a refresh and a new lease on life.
Join Gail McCall and Laziza Hawkins on Wednesday afternoons at TACAS for a relaxed session of mending and community sewing and mending.
This is an opportunity to use beautiful vintage fabrics or threads to embellish clothing. You will have access to sewing machines and a selection of materials and embellishments available at TACAS.
Bring a project or two to finish, or an op shop treasure and some fabric scraps for an afternoon of merry making.
